In the Stakes of modernisation

The book was published as part of the series of commemorative works for thinkers and innovators. It was issued by The Tunisian Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Arts ‘’ Beit al-Hikma’’ in 2025, under the supervision of Professor Moncef Ben Abdeljalil, in honor of Professor Abdelmajid Charfi, the former president of the Academy.

The work includes contributions from a symposium organised by ‘’ Beit al-Hikma ‘’on May 23 and 24, 2022.

The book chronicles the journey of a modernising thinker who dedicated  himself to resisting all dogmatic thought, making him one of the most prominent modernists nationally and in the Arab world, according to most studies and testimonies that unanimously agree he is not merely a symbol of modernism, but a founder of a school that has become radiant beyond Tunisian borders.
