Prenatal Care: parents, babies and families across cultures
The contents of the book are part of scientific publication on the difficulties and
issues relating to the child bearing period, and the effects of family relations on
child development across different cultures. Tunisian and international experts in
psychoanalysis psychopathology, anthropology pediatrics and obstetrics look
into major organic, psychological, family and social issues of prenatal care.
The book also examines child bearing issues of single mothers, such as violence
and humiliation, social isolation, and the feeling of guilt arising from social
measures in specific cultural contexts. In this connection all approaches stressed
the necessity of control and the ethics of child clinics to achieve effective clinical
care and treatment solutions.
