The Beit al-Hikma Lectures 2019-2020

The book expresses the interest of the Tunisian Beit El Hikma Academy of Science,
Literature and Art in various types of knowledge, particularly recent scientific research and
different modes of thought to keep abreast of developments in all areas of thought and
creative work. In the scientific field, these collected papers embody the organic relationship
between all forms of development and investment in science and new technologies, for it
is impossible to make any economic, educational, political or environmental achievement
without every part of the knowledge society. They further comprise a survey of medical
and biological research work on cancer. The book also includes studies on the interest of
the European Enlightenment movement in the Arab Maghreb and the tragic representation
of truth, together with a number of research papers on forms of artistic and literary
expression in Arabic heritage and the concept of scholastic theology in both the
conservative culture of reproduction and the rational reformist approach upholding the
polysemic nature of concepts.
